Privacy notice

Who is responsible

RE:OTHER is an independently operated photo-generation service based in the United Arab Emirates. In this notice, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of RE:OTHER, responsible for deciding how your personal data is used. This notice covers our app, supporting services, website and support requests. For privacy questions, email hello@reother.com.

We apply the UAE’s applicable data-protection requirements, including Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, and other mandatory protections that apply to you.

The information we use

  • Account details: your Google account identifier, email, name and Google profile-photo details when you sign in; your optional custom profile photo; and your gem balance.
  • Photos and results: photos you choose or take in the app, optional reference photos, generated images, and the pack, scene and framing selections needed to create them.
  • Service records: generation progress, dates, errors, request references and processing costs. We also check that your photo is clear enough for the selected pack.
  • Purchases, when available: Google Play purchase tokens, product and transaction details, credits, refunds and payment-review records. Google handles payment-card details; we do not receive your full card number.
  • Security and technical information: hashed account, device and network identifiers, app version, request timing and diagnostic information used to secure the service. Hosting providers also receive connection information such as your IP address and browser information when serving the site or API.
  • Messages you send: support emails and any generation reports or attachments you choose to submit.

Camera access is optional and requested when you choose to take a photo. Notification permission lets the app tell you when your images are ready or a generation fails. You can change permissions in your device settings. We do not use advertising pixels or marketing analytics on this website.

Why we process it

We use this information to authenticate you, create the images you request, check references for the selected workflow, maintain your private history and balance, deliver status notifications, verify purchases, return gems for failed generations, prevent misuse, resolve support requests and meet applicable legal obligations.

Where processing depends on consent, you can withdraw it by stopping the relevant feature or contacting us. This does not affect processing already carried out lawfully. Some information is necessary to fulfil your service request or legal obligations; without it, the affected feature may not work.

AI processing analyses visible image content to transform it or check suitability. Our reference check is instructed not to identify people or infer personal traits. Security rules can automatically limit requests or place a payment-review hold. Contact us to ask for a review if you believe a restriction is wrong.

Who receives information

We share the information needed for the service with these providers:

  • Cloudflare: website and API hosting, private image storage, account databases, network security and AI reference-suitability checks.
  • AI models and third-party processing services we work with: receive your photos, reference images and the instructions needed to create your result. The services used may vary by pack and change over time.
  • Google: Google sign-in and, when enabled, Google Play billing, purchase verification and related payment services.

Providers may process information outside the UAE, including in countries with different data-protection rules. Their service arrangements and applicable transfer requirements govern that processing. Contact us for more information about transfers and available safeguards.

We do not sell your photos, use your private account images in this public showcase without separate permission, or use them to train our own AI models. Provider handling is subject to their applicable terms and processing arrangements. We may disclose necessary information if legally required, to protect rights and security, or as part of a lawful transfer of the service, with appropriate notice where required.

Storage and retention

Account images are stored privately, with authenticated access and limited-time provider access where needed. No service can guarantee absolute security.

  • Generation photos and outputs: our stored image objects are configured to expire after 30 days. Save anything you want to keep to your device. Deleting a result removes its generated copy; a shared original is removed when no remaining result needs it. Account deletion removes associated stored images, with cleanup retries if storage is temporarily unavailable.
  • Profile photo: your chosen account photo remains until replaced, reset to your Google photo, or deleted with the account.
  • Temporary AI-provider copies: we use available privacy settings to limit storage of your photos and results by our AI processing services. Providers may keep temporary copies, backups or security records under their own retention policies. Retention times can differ between services.
  • Short-lived service records: request-rate records expire after roughly an hour, generation reports after 90 days, and completed image-cleanup records after 30 days.
  • Account and financial records: active accounts retain gem-ledger and generation-history records. Limited purchase-redemption, security, claim and generation-cost records remain after account deletion to prevent duplicate purchase credit, fraud and circumvention of payment restrictions. These may contain transaction hashes, hashed identifiers, outcomes, costs and timestamps, but not stored photos. These limited records do not currently have an automatic expiry and are assessed in response to retention or deletion requests, subject to security needs and applicable law.

Purchase tokens may remain while purchase consumption or payment recovery is pending. Older purchase records may contain tokens until account deletion; redemption hashes remain afterwards. Support correspondence is kept while needed to resolve the request and any related dispute or legal obligation. Copies you save or share outside RE:OTHER are controlled by you and the services you use.

Your choices and rights

You can change your profile photo, delete individual results, manage app permissions, or delete your account in the app. You can also request account deletion by email.

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your information, correction, erasure, restriction or cessation of processing, transfer of eligible data, information about sharing and retention, or review of an automated restriction. You can withdraw consent where it is the basis for processing. Contact hello@reother.com; we may verify that you control the account before acting. We respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any lawful exception. You may also raise a complaint with the competent data-protection authority, including the UAE Data Office where applicable.

People under 13

RE:OTHER is intended for people aged 13 or older. If you are still a minor under the law where you live, a parent or legal guardian must permit your use. Do not upload a photo of a person under 13. When an uploaded person aged 13 or over is still a minor, obtain their permission and the necessary parent or guardian permission too.

If you believe someone under 13 has provided personal information, or a child’s image has been uploaded without the required permission, contact us so we can investigate and remove it where appropriate. An AI age-transformation result is fictional and does not change the age of the source person.

Changes and contact

We will update this page when our practices change and provide additional notice or seek consent where required. The date above identifies this version. Questions about privacy or retention can be sent to hello@reother.com.
